LAHORE: The police claimed to have arrested MNA Jamshed Dasti’s brother along with two accomplices for cutting and smuggling of timber from a town in Muzaffargarh on Sunday and recovered stolen timber, a local tv channel reported.
According to SHO Civil Lines, the police arrested Dasti’s brother Mushtaq and his two associates from Chak Mithan.
The arrest was made when natives filed a complaint against them. Witnesses told the police that they were cutting timber from the roadside area around Forest department’s property.
“An FIR has been been registered against the accused” he added.
Mushtaq Dasti gave the narrative that he was clearing the pathways.
Jamshed Dasti said that no one should be above the law. “If his brother has violated the law then he should be punished,” he maintained.
