ISLAMABAD: The federal government under its aspirational plan ‘Vision 2025’ would equip nearly 5,000 master degree holders with the technical training so that they would be capable of earning their livelihood in a dignified manner.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) has initiated a programme ‘Job market skills for unemployed youth’ that assists students to acquire vision that would enable them to explore the job market.
Spokesperson of HEC Ayesha Ikram on Wednesday said that under the programme, HEC would be accepting applications from the unemployed individuals till April 16, with maximum age limit up to 30 years.
She stated that the applications would be processed on ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
Sharing details of the programme, she said that the students would be bestowed with training for four months in the best training institutes of the country.
She said that the local students would be paid stipend of Rs 5,000 per month while foreign students would get Rs 10,000 per month.
She stated that the students who have been unemployed during the last year, after completion of their 16 years of education in any subject of arts and humanities, are eligible to apply for the programme.
The candidates must undergo aptitude screening test, she added.
The training courses being offered include marketing and sales; business start-ups (entrepreneurship); computing skills for office, accounting, communication skills, English language, journalism language, airline ticketing, TV program and media production, IT and leadership skills, hotel management, construction projects management (AutoCAD), digital marketing skills, Interior design and MS projects.
