ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting, National History & Literary Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb while talking to media persons outside the Accountability Court on Monday said that known horse traders were leveling baseless allegations of horse trading against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN).
She questioned how Chaudhry Sarwar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had secured 44 votes in Senate elections whereas PTI had only 30 seats in Punjab Assembly.
“Those who were trying to give lessons of morality and crying hoarse to end corruption from Pakistan used money to win elections,” the minister said.
She also asked PTI Chief Imran Khan to investigate the winning of Senate seats by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and securing of 44 votes by Sarwar in Punjab.
“Has Imran Khan taken any action so far against Chaudhry Sarwar for his indulgence in horse trading? At least Imran who relished on Tweeting everything under the skies must post a Tweet or a statement on the issue,” Marriyum Aurangzeb added.
“What transpired in KP and Balochistan during Senate elections is known to everyone,” she remarked.
“Can Imran divulge any action he has taken against Chaudhry Sarwar who got 14 more votes than the PTI strength in the Punjab Provincial Assembly?”
The minister said that time had come to purge the political system of such bad practices of horse trading and changing loyalties.
She said that the PMLN candidates were deprived of a party symbol but the love of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif cannot be removed from the hearts of the people of Pakistan.
