LAHORE: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) London chapter officials have announced to visit the graves of the party martyrs at Yaadgar-e-Shuhada on Saturday. Security has been beefed up on all the routes leading to Nine Zero and Yaadgar-e-Shuhada.
Barriers and containers have been placed on all the routes and security officials have been deployed in large numbers in Azizabad, Liaquat Ali Khan Chowk and other adjacent areas.
It has been learned that the officials of the MQM – London chapter will be paying tributes to the martyrs of the party who lost their lives in various operations in Karachi as well as the ethnic infighting of Karachi and other parts of Sindh.
Last month, when MQM – Pakistan officials, including the party chief Dr Farooq Sattar, had visited the martyrs’ memorial site, they had initially been stopped from reaching the place but were later allowed by the provincial government after negotiations.
